Cruise & Concert: 14-Mile Island and The Sembrich
Start your special summer day with a private cruise along the beautiful Bolton shoreline, hearing the local history from long-time resident Ted Caldwell. Dock across the lake at privately-owned 14 Mile Island where you will enjoy a tour of a 1905 private residence, boathouse and grounds. Boat back to the marina, then take a short walk to the Sembrich Opera Museum, the 1924 teaching studio of internationally known Polish soprano Marcella Sembrich.
Enjoy your lunch lakeside with time to explore the beautiful four-acre setting. Be ushered into the intimate studio to hear the Silver Bay String Quartet performing a special classical music concert including Elgar’s Piano Quintet in A Major, Op. 84. At the end of this golden afternoon, linger with the other concert-goers over lemonade and cookies at a tented reception on the lawn.
The tour begins at 10:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm.
The fee is $75 for members and $85 for non-members.Fee includes a private boat ride, tour of private home, concert ticket and admission to museum. Lunch not included.
