Sacred Sites Open House

The New York Landmarks Conservancy has proudly preserved New York’s sacred architecture for over 30 years. We’re celebrating New York’s magnificent houses of worship during the Conservancy’s 15th annual Sacred Sites Open House on May 17 and 18.

During this weekend, over 80 sites will open their doors, allowing visitors to explore their extraordinary art, architecture, and history, and highlight the broad spectrum of faith traditions, historical periods, and styles of religious architecture. This year’s theme, “Building for Eternity: Religious Architecture and Artisans,” celebrates the craftsmanship and artistry of New York’s religious sites. The Open House is also a great opportunity to learn about the crucial social service and cultural programs they provide.

This year, two churches in the Adirondack region are participating, both in Canton: Grace Episcopal Church and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton. Stop by and celebrate the rich history of these two North Country landmarks!
