30th Annual Preservation Awards

AARCH’s Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony recognizes the individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations whose efforts exemplify the best of historic preservation work in the Adirondacks. This event shines a light on the passions and extraordinary work of the people who make historic preservation such an important part of the region’s vitality.

We will honor this year’s awardees at Frontier Town Gateway’s iconic A-frame, a landmark that has welcomed those traveling along the I-87 Northway since the 1950s. Once the entrance to the beloved theme park, Frontier Town, the A-frame sat vacant for 20 years until Muhammad “Mo” Ahmad bought it in 2018 and rehabilitated the site as Frontier Town Gateway, a vibrant restaurant and travel center. Since opening in 2022, the A-frame has once again become a destination for travelers and locals alike as a central hub for events and gatherings, with a variety of goods from local artisans’ wares to camping gear.

We hope you will join us in celebrating the wonderful accomplishments of our friends and neighbors this September, as well as appreciating the stunning rehabilitation of the Frontier Town A-Frame.
