Marking History Webinar

Marking History with the William G. Pomeroy Foundation

Are you curious about how to mark history in the places you care about? Join AARCH and our friends at the William G. Pomeroy Foundation for a closer look at the Foundation’s grant programs, which fully fund roadside markers highlighting the historical people, places, and events your community values.

We will explore several of the Foundation’s signature grant programs, all of which fully fund markers, and include expert guidance and source vetting from professional historians. These grant programs support markers that recognize local history across New York State, as well as signage for public properties and historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Participants will also learn about the national Pomeroy Education Program, through which students conduct primary-source research and make lasting contributions to their communities.

This webinar is perfect for educators, municipal leaders, nonprofit professionals, students, and anyone interested in recognizing and celebrating local history.
